Background

Attending Bomana War Cemetery for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service is an incredibly moving and for many, personal experience, and is something we continue to recommend as part of the Kokoda trekking experience.

Finally, we're excited to be able to offer you that same experience, without the need to trek either before or after the service.

Whether your friend or loved one is trekking Kokoda and you would like to join them at the end, or if you would just like to attend the service and spend some time in Port Moresby, this is an excellent option.

A local No Roads guide will take you to Bomana War Cemetery, McDonald's Corner, and then onto Owers Corner where you will be there to greet our trekkers as they finish their Kokoda Trek.

The highlight of this incredible experience is the Dawn Service at Bomana War Cemetery, which is an emotional and moving event, and one that is not easily forgetten.

If you have attended Dawn Services in Australia, Gallipoli, at Hellfire Pass on the Burma-Thai Railway, or the Western Front battlefields of Europe, coming to Bomana to pay your respects, is an experience that deserves to sit alongside them all.

This is a completely non-trekking tour and you are not required to have a high level of fitness.

If you have mobility issues, please contact us directly to discuss further.

We also have Kokoda treks available over the Anzac Day Period, our Anzac Day Australian Led Kokoda, and our Fast Kokoda Australian Led.
